It’s a true honour to join the board of an organisation so deeply committed to advancing standards, education, and collaboration within aesthetic nursing. As someone who has spent many years advocating for safe, ethical practice in our sector through my work with ACE Group World, BAMAN, and clinical education, this role feels like a natural and exciting next step.
I look forward to working alongside the incredible team at DANAI to support our members, shape policy, and elevate the voice of aesthetic nurses across Ireland and beyond.

Leadership Update: Sharon King Appointed Vice Chairperson of DANAI
We are delighted to share that Sharon King RN, ALNP, MSc, a founding director of the Aesthetic Complications Expert Group (ACE Group World), has been appointed Vice Chairperson of the Dermatology Aesthetic Nurses Association Ireland (DANAI).
Sharon brings over two decades of distinguished experience across clinical practice, education, governance, and medico-legal consultancy. As the first nurse in the UK to be credentialed in Non-Surgical Aesthetic Practice by the Royal College of Nursing, she has consistently championed excellence and safety in aesthetic medicine.
During her time as Vice Chair of the British Association of Medical Aesthetic Nurses (BAMAN), Sharon supported efforts to strengthen national standards, foster collaborative partnerships, and contribute to the development of credentialing frameworks. She worked closely with regulators, educators, and sector colleagues to help align governance and training with evolving best practices and a shared commitment to patient safety.
Within ACE Group World, Sharon has authored peer-reviewed guidelines, developed PGDs for emergency medicines, and led regulatory and complication management initiatives. Her contributions as a clinical reviewer for EU MDR certification and investigator in multiple clinical trials underscore her commitment to evidence-based practice and regulatory compliance.
As DANAI’s Vice Chairperson, Sharon is deeply committed to supporting nurses, strengthening governance, and fostering a culture of integrity and clinical excellence. Her appointment marks a significant step forward in uniting aesthetic nursing standards across the UK and Ireland.
